Date: 2014. Author: Ma Shih-fangPulling Myself Out is the last album ever banned in Taiwan’s publishing history. In 1990, the Government Information Office seized the album on the grounds that “the lyrics are vulgar and obscene, violating public morality,” and issued a press release stating that “such emotional rubbish belonging to the author personally should be incinerated in the furnace of self-reflection,” and condemning it as “the sinking of humanity, the surfacing of bestiality.”
