Chu T’ou-p’i (born February 16, 1966), real name Chu Yo-hsin, is a Taiwan singer-songwriter and one of the key figures of the New Taiwanese Song Movement.

In 1990, while enrolled in NTU’s Graduate Institute of Atmospheric Sciences, Chu Yo-hsin began organising dances on the Coconut Grove Boulevard. On a whim, he set the independent British dance group New Order’s music to Taiwanese folk songs for a live performance, receiving an enthusiastic audience response. Later, inspired at a “Taiwan Folk Song Workshop,” he began composing in Taiwanese, and started performing live at social and student-movement events, becoming known as the “student protest singer.”

From 1994 onward, recording under the stage name “Chu T’ou-p’i” (Pig’s Head Skin), he created the Taiwanese-language rap style known as “Hsiao K’uei Nien Ke” (laughing rap). Chu Yo-hsin has also hosted programmes on Taiwan MTV, TVBS, Good News satellite television, and Public Television Service. From December 2008, he hosted a film review programme on New Outlook Television.
