Presented annually since 2012 by the Taipei Cultural Foundation’s Artist Village Operations Division, “Hybrid Live” is an annual arts festival centred on live music and sound performance, taking place across Taipei Artist Village and Treasure Hill Artist Village. The first edition’s programme ran for a full month, with opening and closing performances held at Huashan Meadow and the outdoor stage of Treasure Hill Artist Village respectively. Combining domestic and international independent bands, sound art, electronic music, and film concerts, the festival reassembled music, sound, and image as a unified whole, using the concept of hybridization and collage to challenge established forms of artistic expression.
