Simple Life Festival (簡單生活節) was conceived and launched by Jonathan Lee (李宗盛), Chang Pei-jen, and others. Starting in December 2006 and held biennially, it is a ticketed lifestyle festival. Departing from the core idea of “do what you love, and let what you love have value,” it combines outdoor music festival performances with gatherings of creators of all kinds, small-farm markets, fashion and lifestyle goods markets, and more — with the goal of “bringing together the finest people, things, and objects in Taiwan.” It has now been held six times in Taipei and Taichung; in 2016 it entered its tenth year, and from 2014 it expanded to Shanghai for the Simple Life Festival Shanghai in 2014 and 2015.
