Static Riot was a two-night Taiwan–Japan exchange performance held in March 2001 at Café Neruda in Taipei, conceived by “Electric Dissolve Body” (Wang Fu-jui, Yeh Hui-wen, and others). Participants included three Taiwanese groups with long records in experimental electronic music and performance — Zero & Sound, Psycho-neural, and Dino — alongside three Japanese “lowercase/minimal” experimental electronic musicians: Tanaka Toru, Marutani Koji, and Inada Mitsuzou (who had performed at the 2000 International Computer Music Conference in Berlin).
