The “Electronic Music Practicum” event was organised by “Electric Dissolve Body” (電解體), whose performers that day included Dino, Zero & Sound Liberation Organisation, Tanaka Yo, and Ying Wei-min (Hsiao Ying of Jia Tzu). Electric Dissolve Body was a collective dedicated to connecting electronic music with sound performance; they had previously organised the first Ragged Life Festival (1994) and the Air Rupture Festival (1995). The day’s performances brought together different sonic experiments from Taiwanese and Japanese artists: Dino triggered explosive sound using simple mixing tools; Zero & Sound Liberation Organisation coupled precision instruments with physical performance; Ying Wei-min delivered his characteristically Taiwanese-flavoured talk-show “Why Won’t the Rain Stop.”

Japanese artist Tanaka Atau controlled both image and sound via the hyper-instrument Bio-Muse, whose technically precise performance left audiences stunned and to some degree shaped the subsequent trajectory of “sound art” in Taiwan.
