In 1992, the then-globally red-hot American heavy metal supergroup Skid Row was brought to Taiwan by Yü-kuang Music, performing at Taipei Municipal Stadium before an astonishing crowd of over ten thousand — Taiwan’s first concert by a major international heavy metal act.
However, as Taiwanese audiences were quite unaccustomed to the wild style of Western heavy metal bands, the event triggered a wave of media condemnation at the time.
