1956

1953年創刊的《現代詩》季刊主張知性路線力求吸收西方精神。1956年進一步成立現代派，其強烈主張引起詩界反彈，於《文學雜誌》展開論戰，是為台灣戰後第一次現代詩論戰。 The journal Modern Poetry, founded in 1953, championed an intellectual, Western-influenced approach to verse. In 1956, the more radical Modernist School was established, provoking backlash from other poets and sparking Taiwan's first postwar debate over modern poetry in the pages of Literary Review.

鄉土文學論戰 Nativist Literature Debate

70年代「鄉土文學論戰」的爆發，是臺灣戰後以來「一次大規模文化論戰。而且論戰的範圍並不僅止於文學領域，還包括了在政治、經濟層面的意識形態的對立要素，因此也可說是一場全面性的思想、文化論爭。」 The explosion of the 1970s 'Nativist Literature Debate' was the largest cultural controversy in postwar Taiwan. Its scope extended far beyond literature, encompassing ideological cleavages in politics and economics — making it a comprehensive struggle over ideas and culture.

2005

台客搖滾嘉年華 Taikè Rock Carnival

台語由滾歌手伍佰指出，台灣一直沒有超越語言、族群的文化，自2006首次舉辦的「台客搖滾嘉年華」演唱會就是由伍佰等眾多音樂人推動台客流行文化活動之一。 Taiwan rock musician Wu Bai has observed that Taiwan has never had a culture that transcends language and ethnicity. The Taikè Rock Carnival, first held in 2006, was one of the events promoted by Wu Bai and many other musicians to popularize taikè (台客) cultural identity.

2005年8月，由於電視媒體大量炒作「台客文化」一詞，引發學界與文化界的論戰，雙方爭執不下，甚至驚動當時的總統陳水扁出面緩頰。 In August 2005, television media's saturation coverage of 'taikè culture' ignited an intense debate between academics and cultural commentators. The controversy escalated to the point that then-President Chen Shui-bian personally intervened to try to defuse tensions.
