1960

古典音樂的現代化運動 Modernization of Classical Music in Taiwan

剛回國的許常惠開始推動國內音樂創作，這段期間無論是作曲團體的誕生，或是作曲家的作品發表會，都達到空前的盛況。 Freshly returned from abroad, composer Hsu Chang-hui began championing original musical composition in Taiwan. The period saw an unprecedented flourishing of composer collectives and public premieres of new works.

1961

第一次「製樂小集」 First ‘Music Makers’ Concert

對台灣音樂影響深遠的作曲家許常惠於1961年成立了「製樂小集」團體，由多位作曲家所組成，為台灣年輕作曲家發表新作之舞台，亦時常舉辦國外重要作品首演，以期帶動本土音樂創作。 In 1961, composer Hsu Chang-hui — a figure of lasting influence on Taiwanese music — founded the Composing Ensemble, a collective that provided a platform for young Taiwanese composers to premiere new works and frequently presented first performances of major international compositions.

1967

許常惠與史惟亮組成民歌調查隊 Hsu Chang-hui and Shih Wei-liang Form Folk Song Survey Team

民歌採集運動指1966年1月起，由小規模轉為稍具規模，最終於1967年8月達到高潮的系列採集行動。民歌採集運動一詞首見於1968年史惟亮〈台灣山地民歌調查研究報告〉一文。 The folk song collection movement began modestly in January 1966 before expanding and reaching its peak in August 1967. The term first appeared in Shih Wei-liang's 1968 report 'Survey and Research on Taiwan Mountain Folk Songs.'

1979

第一唱片發行「中國民俗音樂專集」系列唱片 First Records Releases Chinese Folk Music Series

1979至1985年間，委由「中華民俗藝術基金會」所策畫、第一唱片公司出版的《中國民俗音樂專集》系列黑膠唱片。囊括早年戰後各類型的族群音樂，對後來臺灣流行歌曲的本土創作者產生直接影響。 Between 1979 and 1985, the Chinese Folk Music Anthology — a series of vinyl LPs planned by the Chinese Folk Arts Foundation and published by First Records — documented a wide range of postwar ethnic music traditions in Taiwan.
