Bit Everysound is a music gathering organised by Lin Chiang and Hsiao Wu (jjj) from 2005, emphasising that electronic music is not just dance music — with no focus on individual DJ personality, but rather on the overall atmosphere and feeling. Bit Everysound grew out of the 2004 performance organisation “post everything.” The first bit everysound was held at Kafuka Café by the Sea; it ran until 2007. Throughout that period it widely invited experimental sound artists (such as i/O SoundLab and DJ A-che) and visual artists (such as Wang Keng-yu, Lee Chun-yi, and DEAN), frequently mentioning different Taiwanese record shops (such as Good Eat Music Society and Youchung Records) in its promotional materials in hopes of building more connections. DJ Che-che noted: “This is a very musically focused event; every time you come you can hear a lot of great music combined with highly creative visuals — this kind of event is a genuinely new attempt in Taiwan.”
