The Taipei Digital Arts Festival, presented by the Taipei Digital Arts Foundation, was first held in 2006. Bringing together arts organisations and the technology industry while integrating resources from the public sector, the private sector, and academia, it was structured around five main exhibition and performance tracks: “International Digital Arts Invitational Exhibition,” “Digital Arts Open Competition Award,” “Digital Arts Performance,” “Digital Arts Platform,” and “Education and Outreach Activities.” Among Taiwan’s many commercial digital productions, it was one of the few digital exhibitions launched from an arts perspective.

The “Digital Arts Open Competition Award” categories included: interactive installation (first prize: NT$300,000), sound art (first prize: NT$100,000), digital audio-visual (first prize: NT$100,000), and net art (first prize: NT$100,000).
