Between 1994 and 1995, under the production of Pai Chi-ling, the Friendly Dog record label released a series of Taiwan music albums known as the Taiwan Underground Music Archive. Beyond several compilation discs, these included recordings from the pioneering era of underground bands such as LTK Commune, Bone Flesh Skin, Forbidden Land, and the Bored Men’s United Organisation. Though frequently criticised at the time for rough production quality, there is no denying that this series preserved a documentary record of Taiwan’s underground bands in their earliest incarnation.
