GIO Launches Band Recording Subsidy Program

To achieve the goal of supporting Taiwan’s popular music industry and helping excellent bands record audio publications, the “Subsidy Programme for Bands to Record Audio Publications” was launched in 2007. It selected original, creative, and musically valuable yet-unreleased band works; a jury of professionals selected outstanding band works and subsidised their album recording; results showcases were held to promote the subsidised bands’ quality work and to increase public understanding of bands’ diverse music and culture. In 2013 the programme was merged with the “Creative Marketing Subsidy for Popular Music Audio Publications” to become the “Indie Music Recording and Marketing Promotion Subsidy Guidelines.”
