“Maelstrom Night — Avant-Garde Sound Performance” was the opening performance event for the exhibition “Altered States,” curated by Jeph Lo at the live house The Wall. The programme centred on industrial rock, noise, and experimental sound, inviting Taiwanese and Canadian avant-garde sound artists including Roaghausen (VJs: Wang Chung-kun and Yao Chung-han), DINO, Goodbye!Nao!, and fish (VJ: Liu Pei-wen), who used computers and electronic equipment as instruments or performed live sound through physical action, combined with computer-projected visuals.
At the close of the performance, Dino, fish, and Goodbye!Nao! improvised together.
