In February 1992, NTU was rocked by the nationally sensational “tomb-raiding incident.” In June, eight students were expelled, including LTK Commune members Tso-p’ai (Left) and Hsiao K’o. That May, LTK Commune held a farewell-to-campus concert at the Audiovisual Little Theatre; the Drama Society performed in the first half, with LTK handling the second. The stage that evening was decorated with a large cluster of coconut leaves with a single spotlight shining down from above — the entirety of the set design. Chicken coops and televisions were placed around the stage, broadcasting video documentation of action-art pranks. The already-confirmed-expelled LTK did not perform the songs their younger fans would later come to know, but instead unleashed irritable and bleak industrial noise, concluding in chaos.
